RESOULsessions Vol. 2

December 20, 2018 — Lars Förster

The world of organization is in a state of transition, as the digital sparrows are whistling from the transformation rooftops at the moment. We think so too, and we want to help shaping the change.

One element of this is our RESOULsessions. With the RESOULsessions we want to connect like-minded people to learn from each other and to contribute our part to the growth of a lively professional community around the topic of "reorganizing".

Because fundamental change in organizations will not be conceived and accompanied by one or two consultancies. Instead, we need an ecosystem of organizations, consultancies and people who are willing to change and experiment, who are willing to go new ways together and learn from and with each other across company boundaries: Following the systems pioneer Donella Meadows, we are convinced that creativity and new things emerge at interfaces.

„The greatest complexities arise exactly at boundaries. (...)
Disorderly, mixed-up borders are sources of diversity and creativity.“

Donella Meadows, „Thinking in Systems“

In this spirit we invited to our second RESOULsession in Berlin on November 24. More than 30 RESOULers and SOULmates - selected colleagues from other consultancies and organizations that, like us, are driving new work - spent a day exploring interfaces, working together and having fun.

In various sessions, we exchanged ideas on a wide variety of topics: from discussions on how our own current research on bonus systems can be incorporated into new organizational forms, to working on concrete practical questions ("How can I anchor organizational development processes in my startup early and lean?"), to the question of what organizational consulting and osteopathy can learn from each other (hint: A lot! linkedin.com/workingwithsystems).

We learned a lot and enjoyed the productive and happy time with everyone. Thanks to all participants! And we are happy to announce the next RESOULsessions Vol. 3 in May 2019!
