Improving the feedback culture

Impetus to the project

In order to achieve an improvement in the feedback culture, employees and managers should be supported in,

  • developing an open attitude in feedback discussions.

  • formulating messages in a way that is both appreciative and clear.

  • conducting feedback conversations in a professional manner using techniques and structures.

What we did

Due to Babbel's corona situation and internationality, we designed a virtual training series - rather untypical for the topic of feedback - in which we made sure to

  • create a protected space in which concrete personal cases could be discussed and one's own concerns about conducting critical feedback conversations could be expressed.

  • to take into account the different cultural backgrounds of the participants and to use these insights for the conversations with members of other cultural groups.

  • achieve an inspiring effect on the entire organizational culture.

The approach, initially planned as an impulse, has become a regular offering.

Experience and Result

Babbel is colorful and diverse, but at the same time authentic. We were able to see this in a video clip in which a senior manager reported why feedback is important and valuable to her.

We got great feedback from the participants, e.g.

„All was brilliant”

“I think more people should attend this, so more sessions in the near future would be great.”

“Thanks to Martin! I really enjoyed this session and felt like I learnt a lot from him.”

“Martin was super clear and thorough”

What our client says

Collaboration with subject:RESOUL has been super valuable for Babbel. We had 4 packed Feedback sessions with Martin Bersem that was reallywell received by everyone - with requests for more sessions so more people could take part in it!

The whole process of getting to know them and how they work has also been very smooth. Martin is very open to listen to our concerns and ideas and tailor the training to our needs. I can only recommend subject:RESOUL and am looking forward to future sessions with them!
